SAFE 360 Installation Options
Option I
Installation of the blast valve (air entrance) under the case.
Option II
Installation of blast valve (air entrance) aside the case.
Preparation for Installation
For installation of the blast valve (air entrance) and overpressure valve (air exhaust) which included in the SAFE 360 kit required having 4" flanges and air opening for pulling fresh air and release of air from the shelter. Flanges are usually comes as part of wall sleeves which are casted in concrete or as a retrofit part connected to the existing walls. See explanation below.
Wall Sleeve
Casted in concrete in process of construction of the structure
Retrofit Flanges for installation on existing walls
Important notice: in this configuration only Option II - Installation of blast valve (air entrance) aside the case posible.
It is recommended that the shelter will be tested for airtightness prior installation of the system. SAFE 360 allows to create overpressure (positive differential pressure) in the gas tight shelter, what helps to prevent penetration of contamination through small cracks or opening in the shelter perimeter.
